High fenced in 2008 this turn-key hunting and fishing operation with lodge has been meticulously planned and managed. In 2015 High Ridge Plantations was purchased by a new owner who eliminated the previous stock of deer. The high fence has been filled with incredible genetics from Black Belt Whitetails of Selma and Weaver Whitetails of Guntersville, AL. These superior genetics come from the line of Maxbo and a few other famous sires that produce 200 class deer and above by the time they are two years old. Along with winter food plots there is a supplemental feeding program that is second to none.
The six acre horse shoe lake has also been improved from an already high quality bass and bream lake. He added tilapia, crawfish, andshad to the F-1 fighting bass and Southeastern Pond Management continues to manage its production. The setting was well planned, giving the lodge unobstructed views in 3 directions. A nice boathouse is an added bonus.
The turkey population is impressive with large Alabama Gobblers and few natural predators due to the high fence. If turkey hunting is your passion you need look no further.
The timber consists of merchantable hardwoods that add additional food sources and cover. Old nut- bearing species of Red and White Oaks are abundant as well as Beech, Ash, and some of the largest River Birch you will find. The internal road system is extensive and well maintained. The main roads are wide with a gravel base with plenty of trails providing access to all points of the land.
The 4.4 miles of high-fence was established in 2008 using eight (8) foot solid lock game fencing. The site boundary was cleared 30 feet on the inside around the entire property with a privacy screen in the front and part of the sides. There are eight (8) green fields, of various size boasting seven (7) solid shooting houses and ten (10) metal stands.
Additionally, there is a nice enclosed barn with two overhead metal doors and a new equipment shed and power and water running to both. A 500 gallon diesel tank is included as well.
The 2000 sq. ft. +/- Lodge with central air and heat was completed in late 2011 with quality finished hardwood flooring and carpet. There are two large bedrooms with private baths and an additional half bath off the great room. The great room has vaulted ceilings and stone fireplace which opens up to a kitchen that includes granite countertops, top notch appliances, and a large pantry, and a separate laundry room. The lodge comes furnished with upscale furniture, big screen TV, silverware, and more. It is move-in ready. The exterior is constructed of Hardyboard with a metal roof and utilities include public water, electricity, telephone, and Direct TV - a perfect set up for company and to watch ball games. Finally, there is a large porch overlooking the lake creating a serene atmosphere to drink coffee and watch the trophy game. You are 1 mile from the Pike County line and 6 miles from the Montgomery County line. Centrally located it is a quick 30 minute drive from Montgomery, 25 minutes to Troy and readily accessible from Auburn, Columbus, Eufaula, and the Florida Panhandle.
